EGYPTIAN SAHARA DESERT STONES COLLECTION

In November 2016 I met an elderly man at the annual Mineral Fair in Bern, Switzerland. He organized Sahara Trips to Egypt for over 12 years. He was able to collect hundreds of stones, desert glass, minerals, fossils and much more when traveling the remote desert areas in Egypt. Today unfortunately those times are over and the Western Desert of Egypt is almost closed for all desert tourism. Access is very restricted because of the political situation.

I was very lucky to take over the main part of his collection. Below you find pictures of those amazing stones from the Western Desert of Egypt. Many are from the Gilf Kebir region, the Desert Glass strewn field and other parts of this amazing desert.
